Marriage

Marriage is considered by the Lord as a covenant made between a man and a woman before and in agreement with God. This is a very important step in someone’s life and should be seen as a lifelong agreement. Before anyone is married by a pastor of Celebration Church of Jacksonville they must understand and fulfill the following prerequisites:

  1. Both individuals desiring to be married by Celebration Church must be born again believers in Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as their Lord and Savior.
  2. At least one party must be a regular attendee of Celebration. If one party does not attend Celebration, please provide an explanation on the application/questionnaire as to where you do attend church.
  3. Both individuals must desire to have a Christ centered marriage and be willing to invest time in preparation for marriage by learning the boundaries and guidelines that Scripture reveals regarding the marriage covenant.
  4. Both individuals must attend pre-marital counseling with the pastor that will be performing the ceremony.

Begin the process by completing our Pre-marital Questionnaire and emailing it to Joann Medina.

Matthew 19:4-6 (NIV)
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
